A great challenge for coaches is to understand No whistle, no whiteboard, no problem, and how removing them is a good thing!
I find myself using Ice Geography: Using the Dots to Your Advantage & Finding Space: Using the Net with my team and players.
When talking about scoring, we looked at the Ways that Shooters are Fighting Back Against Goalies To Score More Goals.
Offensively, we broke down Modern 3v2 Rush Attack: Rush Fundamental + Puck Carrier Reads & Modern 3v2 Rush Attack: Middle Lane Driver & 3rd Player Reads.
Defensively, we looked a lot at individual tactics such as Point Activation for Hockey Defensemen, Increasing Your Offensive Zone Shot Recoveries, and even helped a D1 commit understand How Do I Improve My Point Play?
I’ve had feedback from coaches on how Extra Attacker: When and How Should We Pull Our Goalie? has changed their goalie pull timing and tactics.
When looking at practice, we looked at Why Practice Players Exist and How to Avoid Developing Practice Players, Why “Flow Drills” Suck & Why Coaches Should Throw Away Their Cones and On-Ice Objects, and the Practice Design Principles For Ice Hockey that we’ve found to be most important.
The piece I’m most excited about is Technical & Tactical Empathy in Ice Hockey.

All defensemen should play wing for long enough to understand that the puck rim is a lazy play that should be avoided.
In the modern game, more and more forwards are working high 3-on-2 and 2-on-1 plays, and Sebastian Aho teaches us how to work up.
All players need to understand and leverage The Four Advantages in ice hockey.
Smaller players in particular would benefit from understanding Winning The Puck Line.
