Micah is an elite mathematician. While he could have been a tenured professor, he decided to devote his work to hockey in the public sphere (HockeyViz.com). We talked about mental models, applying analytics practically, and why point shots suck.
Lou was on the advanced scout for the 1980 Olympic team and was an early thought leader within USA Hockey. He has tons of stories to share that are entertaining and informative.

Dan Tangnes (Apple or Spotify)
Dan is the head coach with EV Zug in Switzerland. His aggressive tactics paired with a focus on mindset brought his team a championship and allowed them to consistently punch above their weight class.
EV Zug just repeated as Swiss National League champs, overcoming a 0-3 series lead to beat Zurich in Game 7. Back-to-back!!
Gus Katsaros (Apple or Spotify)
Gus is one of the earliest online hockey analysts. He’s been around for multiple online generations and helped guide many hockey minds. We dove into how to study film, the 4 S’s of scouting, and transferrable skills
Wendy Glover (Apple or Spotify)
Wendy runs Athleadership out of London, Ontario. It’s a program that involves youth in leading through athletics. Her experience and research based program should be expanded across the globe. We need more Wendys out there!

Greg Revak (Gus Katsaros) (Apple or Spotify)
The tables were turned as Gus was asking Greg questions instead of the other way around. We covered a lot of ground from why point shots suck to evaluating talent to developing players.
Russ Sinkewich (Apple or Spotify)
Russ runs the Ohio Hockey Project, a private skills company. The offer elite leagues in the summer and training throughout the year. Russ is an elite leader of people who started in JV hockey and worked his way up to the AHL.
Nick Bowins (Hockey Collective) (Apple or Spotify)
Nick runs the Hockey Collective, a popular social media platform. Nick watches a ton of hockey and have a great depth of knowledge. It was a blast digging into the little details of the game that make so many players elite and special.
Alyssa Gagliardi (Apple or Spotify)
Alyssa is an ex-player and current coach and program director building up girls/women’s hockey in partnership with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Neil Conway (Apple or Spotify)
For my money, Neil is one of the best goalie coaches in the world. He happens to apply his trade mainly in Cleveland, Ohio. I know Mitch Korn (who should be the first goalie coach in the Hall of Fame, and I would easily put Neil in that class of goaltending practicality and genius.

Ed Zdolshek (Apple or Spotify)
Ed is a hockey coach in the Cleveland area with Crusaders HC + St. Ignatius. A former goalie who played an athletic style and could steal games. We talked about coaching, playing, and breaking down goalies. If you want to understand how to make a goalie’s life difficult, this is the episode for you.
Kristen Dieffenbach (Apple or Spotify)
Kristen is an associate professor of Athletic Coaching Education at West Virginia University, United States Center of Coaching Excellence president, Sport Coach Developer & Educator, AASP CMPC, USA Cycling Elite Coach
Simply put, Kristen knows coaching. She’s driving coaching change in USA Hockey and beyond. There is no one that has a larger impact than Kristen. Good thing she’s fantastic at what she does, has passion, and the energy levels to match.
Matt Howatt (Apple or Spotify)
Matt is a strength and conditioning coach out of Calgary. We had a bunch of laughs as we discuss what correlates from the gym to on the ice.
Jacob Newton (Apple or Spotify)
Jacob is a professional hockey player and mental coach. He went through trauma as a child that carried over to how he lived his life and lead to destructive behavior.
